What Are Notary Services?
A notary public is a licensed professional who verifies the identity of individuals signing a document. We are licensed with the California Secretary of State.
This ensures that the signing parties are doing so willingly and understand the implications. A notary’s job is to deter fraud by witnessing signatures and authenticating documents.
Notary services are essential for many legal documents, such as wills, deeds, affidavits, and power of attorney.
Some clients misunderstand the limits of what a Notary Public can do.
We can’t authenticate documents. In other words, we can’t verify that a document (ie. birth certificate ) is authentic.
But someone else can make that statement, and sign their statement, and then a Notary can verify that they signed the document.
So what we are doing is authenticating their (the signers) signature.
The limits of what a Notary Public and cannot do is specified in the Notary Public Handbook.
A notary adds a layer of trust to transactions, ensuring that everything is legally binding and accurate.
There are Different Types of Notary Services
• Standard Notary Public Services: These involve visiting a notary’s office to get documents notarized.
• Mobile Notary Services: A notary travels to your location, providing added convenience. Our customers love this service because it allows them to save time during their busy schedules. Bobby R commented “Anshin Mobile Notary and Livescan saved me from having to deal with lines at other service providers so I was able to stay at my office. Amazing service!”
• Online Notary Services: Many states now offer virtual notary options, allowing documents to be notarized online. California doesn’t yet offer this service but will offer it in 2030.
Notaries play a critical role in legal documentation, ensuring that documents are legally sound and trustworthy.
